What is Tagging?
Tagging is the way a cadet corps / squadron raises funds to pay for activities and equipment not paid for by the Department of National Defence (DND). DND pays for a lot of stuff, but not everything. Hence why cadet corps / squadrons need to fundraise.
Tagging is an activity where cadets stand outside of stores and ask for donations. If someone donates, they receive a little tag.

Call for Parent Drivers for Tagging!
Members of the Sponsoring Committee and staff who have undergone double screening are authorized to provide transportation for cadets to and from tagging locations. Given the limited number of available drivers from the sponsoring committee and staff, we kindly request parents to register below if they are able to drive their cadet to and from their tagging shifts. Additionally, we request that parental drivers remain on-site with their cadet during the tagging activities.
Tagging FAQ
Is tagging mandatory? Yes! Tagging is mandatory. While the majority of the activities are funded by DND, it is not entirely funded by DND; and the remaining expenses are covered through fundraising activities like tagging.
What do I wear? Cadets will wear C3 (Full dress) Please wear your issued parka if it becomes cold.
I haven’t been given a uniform? Cadets without a uniform will wear black pants and a white shirt. Dress accordingly, please bring a jacket if it’s cold.
Why is attending mandatory events important? We take this into consideration for promotions, summer camps and awards. This is a program you get more out of the more you participate in.

Capt Andrew Lampert
Capt Andrew Lampert has been with the cadet program since 2005. He graduated from the Glider Pilot Scholarship program in 2009, and the Power Pilot Scholarship program in 2011. Since graduating from the cadet program, he joined the Canadian Forces as a CIC officer to give back to the program. He has held the positions of Training Officer, Ground School instructor, and Drum Major.
